Qantas Points ("Points") are earned each time you pay your insurance premiums on Eligible OnePath Insurance Policies, provided you have registered your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number with OnePath. For details about an ‘Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy’, see questions 2 and 3 below.

Qantas Points are earned in accordance with the OnePath and Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Terms and Conditions. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions at qantas.com/frequentflyer.

 

Qantas Points are only available for the following covers under a OneCare or OneCare Super policy:

  • Life Cover;
  • Total and Permanent Disability (‘TPD’) Cover;
  • Trauma Cover;
  • Child Cover; and/or
  • Extra Care Cover.

This means Qantas Points cannot be earned on any other policies. From 1 March 2022, Qantas Points are not available for Income Secure Cover, Living Expense Cover and Business Expense Cover under a OneCare or OneCare Super policy.

Yes – for example, Group Insurance policies, MasterTrust insurance and Heritage Risk products – including ANZ Protection Plan, ANZ Group Accident Plan, Group Accident Protection Plan, ANZ Group Insurance Plan, Guaranteed Acceptance Plan, Accidental Death Plan and Term Life Plan. 

From 1 March 2022, Qantas Points are not available for Income Secure Cover, Living Expense Cover and Business Expense Cover under a OneCare or OneCare Super policy; also direct life insurance policies that are sold without the assistance of a licensed financial adviser, and other retail life insurance policies (such as SmartCare and World of Protection).

You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem points. You must be the Policy Owner or a life insured of an Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy and you must also provide your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details to OnePath.

If you're not a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, and you hold an Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy you can receive a complimentary membership to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program when you join via the OnePath join page, saving you the usual $99.50 joining fee^. You will then need to register your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details with OnePath so you can start earning points.

Once OnePath has received your correct Qantas Frequent Flyer details, you’ll be able to start earning Qantas Points every time you pay your life insurance premiums.

Membership and Qantas Points are subject to the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

If you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, and OnePath has received your correct Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details, you will earn one point for every dollar of premium paid (including GST) on your Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy.

The number of Qantas Points (excluding any bonus points) you can earn is capped at 20,000 points per year, per policy. You may also be eligible for bonus points from time to time which may be earned through various promotions or offers from OnePath.

If you pay premiums for your Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy with a credit or charge card that earns Qantas Points, you'll earn points twice. It’s called ‘double-dipping’, and it's a great way to earn points even faster.

If you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, and you’ve register your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details with OnePath, you can login to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account at qantas.com/frequentflyer to view your points balance.

Points are earned in accordance with the OnePath and Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Terms and Conditions and points are then subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions at qantas.com/frequentflyer.

Any points credited to you after payment of a premium are retained in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account, even if your Eligible OnePath insurance policy is cancelled.

The points you earn will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer program account after each statement period, which usually take up to eight weeks from when you pay your Eligible OnePath insurance policy premium, unless otherwise advised.

Example: If I pay my monthly premium of $200 on 20 November, the 200 Qantas Points will usually be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account during January.

If you feel that points relating to your Eligible OnePath insurance policy are not accurate you can contact OnePath on 1800 500 229. Any request for missing points must be notified as soon as reasonably possible after you become aware and in any event within 12 months after the relevant insurance premium has been paid. Please refer to the OnePath and Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Terms and Conditions for more details.

Unfortunately, not. You need to provide your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number to OnePath before you pay your insurance premium to earn points. Points can only be awarded once you have provided OnePath with your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details.

Yes. Qantas Points are allocated based on the insurance premium you pay for your Eligible OnePath insurance policy, so multiple lives on a single policy will be rolled up into an amount of points which will be credited to one member.

Yes. You must provide OnePath with your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details for each Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy where you are the policy owner.

Once you have provided OnePath with your Qantas Frequent Flyer details, you will be able to start earning Qantas Points every time you pay your Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy premiums.

You can earn bonus points on more than one Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy. However, if you earn bonus points as part of a special offer when acquiring an Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy (Acquisition Offer), unless otherwise stated in the terms of the particular offer, the maximum number of bonus points you can earn through Acquisition Offers is capped at 20,000 bonus points per Customer. Further, if you have more than one Eligible OnePath Insurance Policy with the same product name, you are only eligible to be credited with bonus points available as part of an acquisition incentive once.

Please note that bonus point offers might have other specific conditions or caps that will be notified to Policy Owners or potential Policy Owners at the relevant time.

Points are allocated per policy and can’t be split across multiple Qantas Frequent Flyer memberships.

If the policy is owned by joint tenants, or by a business, the relevant policy owners will need to agree on the one Qantas Frequent Flyer membership that will receive the points, and register that Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number with OnePath.

Yes. As the life insured under the policy set up by the policy owner, OnePath Custodians, you are entitled to earn Points. See 19 above for the process to nominate a recipient of the points.

The Qantas Points you earn will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account after each statement period, which usually take up to eight weeks from when you pay your Eligible OnePath insurance policy premium, unless otherwise advised.

Example: My annual life insurance premium is $2,400 and I pay by the month. Therefore, each month, after my $200 monthly payment is accepted, 200 points will be credited to my Qantas Frequent Flyer membership within the following eight weeks.

Points through OnePath are earned in accordance with the One Path and Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Terms and Conditions. Earning and redeeming points are then subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions once points are credited to a person's Qantas Frequent Flyer account in accordance with the OnePath and Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards Terms and Conditions.

No. Points can only be credited to the policy owner or where the policy owner is a company or other legal entity to the person nominated by the policy owner. If you are not a Qantas Frequent Flyer member, OnePath is currently offering holders of Eligible OnePath insurance policies complimentary membership to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program when you join via the OnePath join page, saving you the usual $99.50 joining fee^.
