What does EasyProtect Major Illness insurance cover you for?

EasyProtect Major Illness insurance pays a lump sum if you suffer one of the following major illnesses or injuries and meet the relevant qualifying period:

  • cancer
  • chronic kidney failure
  • coronary artery bypass surgery
  • heart attack
  • multiple sclerosis
  • paralysis
  • severe burns
  • stroke

Who is EasyProtect Major Illness for?

EasyProtect Major Illness insurance is suitable for anyone aged between 18 and 59 who is an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or who holds an Australian Permanent Residency Visa, and who currently resides in Australia at the time of applying. But it's particularly important if you have debts or dependants.

Level of cover

You can choose your level of cover – from $25,000 through to $750,000.
The maximum amount you can apply for is based on your age:

Ages 18-44 can be covered up to $750,000
Ages 45-54 can be covered up to $375,000
Ages 55-59 can be covered up to $125,000

EasyProtect Major Illness insurance premiums vary depending on factors like your age and gender. Here are some examples of how much it might cost:

  • 25 year old male, non-smoker with $100,000 of cover costs $17.82 per month
  • 30 year old female, non-smoker with $300,000 of cover costs $42.40 per month
  • 35 year old male, non-smoker with $250,000 of cover costs $49.41 per month
  • 40 year old female, smoker with $50,000 of cover costs $40.65 per month
  • 50 year old female, non-smoker with $150,000 of cover costs $117.80 per month
